Les Arcs was originally just the 1600 resort which opened
in December 1968. It has a funiclar railway from Bourg St Maurice which means
it is easily accessible by train from other parts of france, even the UK. The
resort offers good value with splendid views over Mont Blanc, and even though
the other areas of Les Arcs are now more popular, 1600 has retained its 1970s
easy going character. As like the whole area, the resort links with La Plagne
